Jinseki Kogen-cho’s kagura, or sacred Shinto music and dance, combines the traditions of both the Bitchu and Izumo regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the name Toyomatsu no Kagura (meaning “kagura of Toyomatsu”), these performances have been designated as Intangible Folk-culture Properties by Hiroshima Prefecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two types of kagura, which have served as important traditions for locals, are seen in this area: Hakkasha Kagura, the sacred music and dance performed at local shrines, and Kojin Kagura, the type performed in farming households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
